The North Houston Frontiers Club, Inc. (NHFC) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) service organization, dedicated to providing educational and charitable assistance to needy minority students in the greater Houston area. We sponsor two major activities each year to support the organization, one of which is the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast, which solely funds our scholarship program.

On Monday, January 16, 2012, the North Houston Frontiers Club will host its annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast at the George R. Brown Convention Center Exhibit Hall (3rd Level). This is the twenty-fourth anniversary of this event and it will be a very special occasion. The Keynote Speaker is Ms. Christina Norman, Executive Editor of Black Voices, Huffington Post Media Group. Mr. Cary Yates, Senior Vice President, Market Growth and Development Manager, Wells Fargo Bank, and Ms. Clarease Yates are Honorary Co-Chairpersons. During the Breakfast, The Prestigious Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drum Major Award will be presented to Mr. Robert Mills, President/CEO, Frontiers International Foundation.

The net proceeds from the breakfast are used to fund the scholarship program. We have awarded over $1,000,000 in scholarships over the past twenty-three. Proceeds from the 2011 Breakfast were used to fund $28,000 in scholarships (7 four-year awards at $1,000 per year) for this year alone!

We wish to form a partnership with you to further the goals and ideals of Dr. King. The need is great in our community to provide opportunities for young and gifted individuals to reach the levels of success Dr. King dreamed of them achieving in this country. Our partnership would aid the youth of Houston and retain our best students to move them along in their educational endeavors. We are requesting that you lend your voice to this educational effort through any of the following ways: Underwriting the 2012 Breakfast with a pledge of $35,000, participating at the Partnership Level with a pledge of $10,000, at the Platinum Level ($5,500), Gold Level ($3,500), Silver Level ($2,000), or Supporter ($1,000).
